See the Tai Chi Chuan page for
comments on sword, spear, saber, staff, fan, jo and kwan
dao. Shaolin can become an |
expensive hobby if one is
aggressive about learning weapons. Some estimates: whisk
($25); trident ($70-110); flail ($60); |
pu dao ($100-125); cane ($20);
hooked swords ($80); 3-section staff ($50); daggers
($25); sai ($40); jo ($7); nunchaku ($12); |
halberd ($75 for snake spear;
$110 for single moon halberd; $200 for double moon
halberd). As no one is an ordained |
Shaolin monk we all wear the
same clothes as one might for Xing Yi Chuan, Bagua Chuan
or Tai Chi Chuan. |
If someone just has to have a
monk's uniform they are about $90 for top, pants, shoes,
socks, sash and mala beads. |
