I-MAG STS
2012
Mr. Bass, Mr. Thrun and Mr. Zoll have over
one century of programming experience and have the red eyes and white
hair to prove it. We have worked together for varying intensities and
durations since the 1980s. We were beta testers for Tripod before it
became Visual Basic and for Cirrus before it was known as Access. We
are currently all working with Visual Studio 2010 running on Windows 7
machines. To accompany our collection of PDAs, smart phone and
netbooks we currently have two tablets running Windows 8. Our DEEDS
ABIDE software suite is composed of 30 applications and slightly more
than 10,000 Windows forms. In the first 18 hours of work KALVEET has
7236 lines of cleanly compiled code in several modules and 37 forms; a
populated database (about 15 megabytes of data in 40 tables); a user
manual; some test scripts; and about 100 graphic images. All the form
snapshots are from live code. The only bug we have so far is a
problem recognizing L1 cache correctly.
DEEDS ABIDE is a
reference to the dying words of the great French mathematician, Louis
Augustin Cauchy (1789-1857):
"Men pass on; deeds abide."
In
our mathematical and statistical work we rarely pay much attention to
what people say, preferring to measure what they do.
In that
spirit, we'd prefer to let our work speak for itself.
