I-MAG STS is a collection of mathematicians, economists and other scientists.
Some of us live in Orinda.
We have no agenda and are not being paid.
We are, however, parents, grandparents and long-time district residents.
We don't like the direction the dots are pointing.
We are very aware of all the Districts' distinguished history of academic achievement.
We are equally aware that the Districts are mostly in dire straits financially.
Our econometric models predict things are unlikely to be better next year.
The models also assert that in terms of API scores Miramonte, Campolindo and Acalanes will take
four to six years to recover from two years of major layoffs.
After considerable analysis, we find that, with some help, the Acalanes High School District as well
as the various primary school districts could install solar panels and storage batteries to not only
reduce the cost of electricity presently consumed but also to generate extra power for sale sufficient
to save all the threatened jobs.
