SASSA has been designed to inform people not only about seismic events (earthquakes and tsunamis) as they occur, but also to make predictions about how current events will influence the future of seismic events, by geographical region and Richter strength. Seismic events are recorded in universal time, so the offset (represented here as 7 hours) allows a user to determine its relative time. In this case, all the recent events registered above 5.0 Richter are obtained and any date subsequent to the time synchronization (top center) are presented in the grid. |
