12/13/2016 Single Whip posture with weapons With the Ky Lin knives (technically, swords
as both edges of the main blade are sharp) it is something of a
question what exactly the enemy's descending blow will strike - the
crescent-shaped guard or the blade itself. Of no small interest is
whether the blow would shatter the guard and reach the fingers with
enough energy to cause serious damage. Whatever is delivering the
enemy's lower blow is going to get slashed - can enough control be
kept of the unicorn blade to counter with a slash into the enemy's
knee and thigh? It would likely be a stretch to reach the enemy groin
or lower abdomen, but the blade would be poised to do serious damage.
The wind fire wheels are not an easy target, so we should expect that
most of the time there will NOT be much immediate damage from either
of the enemy's attacks. Whether you can counterattack with any
effectiveness at all is hard to say. In my experience, with the wheels
configured as shown they are not much of an offensive threat.
