We will begin with the staff (clockwise from the top): traditional ironwood; double tapered graphite; graphite two-piece competition (by some described as the toothpick); and lau gar.

Besides graphite and ironwood, students will be able to experience the differences between red oak, white oak, rattan,  waxwood and hickory as well as octagonal versus round cross-sections.
