Weapons - Saber  (continued)
Rather than have a container load of custom weapons made I decided to experiment by
using common and inexpensive hose clamps to attach various blades (actually, whole
weapons) to a generic staff posing as a handle. I did not especially wish to damage any of
the weapons so I considered using something like the image on the left. There were
problems with some of the grip areas of the various blades and even when that could be
accommodated the force placed on the junction during some of the movements resulted
blades flying off to the alarm of bystanders and the cinematographer. So two or three
of the hose clamps on the right were used. They are typically time-consuming to put on
and take off if one is using a screwdriver. I was not satisfied with the results using a
power drill or a socket wrench in place of the screwdriver.
