Even using just the
8,096 events since
1973, the Solomon
Islands have two
clusters than contain
more than 1,000 events
as well as another
dozen major clusters.
There are 75 relatively
small clusters
including 33
singletons. The
Solomon Islands host
at least 19 volcanoes.
We don't consider any
of them major threats,
but vulcanism is
whimsical, so it would
be just like Savo,
Kavachi or the huge
Ontong-Java Plateau
to prove us wrong.
