Bay Point California 12/03/2016 7 Star pose with varying clothing and weapons
We wanted to test how visible for a judge grading individual movements the various weapons would be with different combinations and colors of clothing. For example, the Pi Shas in particular, and silks in general, tend to obscure the exact movement of knees and elbows, while the padded batons (black) tend to disappear briefly against dark clothing. Too cold and windy to film outdoors - usually indoor lighting adds a slight yellow tinge. When there is a reddish tinge to my face that is NOT due to a reflection off the clothing it was NEVER makeup, but may have been me getting cooked by the lights. All the videos are on YouTube. They are very short (3 or 4 seconds) and usually show a double low cut or strike from the famed Seven Stars pose and a return.  Some random still shots are included in the link at the bottom.
All Pi Shas (also known as manteau in French or shawls) were custom-made for us by the very fine people at Chinese Clothing Online (www.chineseclothingonline.com)
