I am not so sure the five vertical tines (perpendicular to the handle) are all that pointy. I am hard-pressed to imagine what use the four horizontal tines (parallel to the handle) would be to a farmer. If they have no obvious use it is not easy for me to see why someone would waste steel and energy to add them to a traditional five-point rake.
