Prelude #26

Theme: Hexagram:
C major    Tai Chu "a heavy involvement"

We recommend fresh white socks each class. If your feet sweat a lot consider bring two pairs. For filming purposes we suggest all white as opposed to colored heels (toes are unlikely to ever be seen). Socks should stay above the ankle, but not bind so much to the lower leg that they reduce circulation. Socks that have holes near the tips of the toes, along the edges, near the heel or under the big toe (near kidney 1) should not be used as they tend to cause blisters and calluses. Usually consistent or persistent excessive wear on parts of a sock either indicates poor socks, incorrectly fitted shoes or faults in footwork. If a parent notices anything please send us a note and we'll look more closely. In some cases a hypoallergenic laundry detergent is indicated. We are not fans of chlorine bleach.
Note that if the class chooses to learn and exhibit a Taoist form (typically Wudang Mountain style - top photo) or a Shaolin form (bottom photo)there are special oversocks usually worn. These look like white bags and go over the ankle and lower leg.
