The small fraction of our bodies that is not water is mostly a mixture or lipids, proteins and carbohydrates. One of the simplest and common carbohydrates is a sugar known as glucose. O = oxygen; H = Hydrogen and C = Carbon Glucose is a six carbon sugar. Rearranging the same atoms produces galactose and fructose - two other sugars. Combining one glucose and one fructose results in sucrose, otherwise known as common table sugar.
