We distribute baseball-style caps
partly as advertising, partly as protection from the sun's
light and heat, and partly to build group consciousness.
In
three of the Wudang Mountain Taoist styles the formal dress
ensemble includes a hat. Were the teacher to perform one of
the Wudang Mountain sets at an exhibition he would wear the
appropriate hat. We have included photos below of the cap
(upper left), the Hunyuan Jin style (upper right), the
Jiuliang Jin style (lower left) and the Zhuangzi Jin style
(lower right). Note that the Hunyuan Jin style is empty in the
center - the black that is visible there is the hair of the
wearer. |
